Hello everyone,
I know that not a single person has read my previous blog but here I am, continuing because I promised myself that I will, no matter what. Anyways, I wanted to tell you all about a book I read, Divergent written by Veronica Roth. Divergent is the first book of the Divergent Trilogy, the second one being Insurgent and the third one, Allegiant. Currently, I am reading Insurgent but since today I had to blog I thought why not speak about Divergent. Frankly speaking, Divergent is awesome. If you are an avid reader and love mystery and suspense, then this book is definitely a must read for you. Its not a light heart read though. I don't know why but I always want the name of the lead characters to be something different and something really good. Beatrice Prior as the lead was awesome and I also loved the nickname Four given to Tobias Eaton though I don't like the name Tobias, don't ask me why. Veronica's writing is an easy to read but with eloquence. This book is in first person point of view of Beatrice whose nickname is Tris. Firstly, we go first line of the book because it always amuses me. It says "There is one mirror in my house". The first line itself sparks some curiosity and makes you want to read more and you end up reading the whole book. I really think that the first line or the first paragraphs of the book decides the fate of the book because for readers like me, I open the book, read some part of it and if it amuses me, I continue with it or I drop it.
Many say that Divergent is like Hunger Games but I can't say much for that part because I never completed even a quarter of Hunger Games book. Why? because I didn't find Hunger Games much interesting. People are comparing Divergent and Hunger Games just because both are set up in the future. Its interesting though, writers coming up with fiction about what will happen in the future. I find it amusing.
The best thing about Divergent was that unpredictable and interesting things happen back to back. There are no filler chapters and small things which happen in the beginning of the story play a very important part in the upcoming parts. There are some things you cannot even guess.
*Spoiler* Like Four being Marcus's son was the best part and other being the point when Tris realises that her mother was from Dauntless. I loved the tattoo part also *Spoiler end*.
In terms of humour also this book ranked well. Being a science fiction and a dy
stopian adventure, it wasn't kind of boring as you expect a science fiction to be. Lined with tinges of subtle romance was what I liked the most about this book. I loved the simple caress rather than steamy things that are usually portrayed in nowadays books. As for suspense, it is mind blowing because even at the end of the book you don't know what actually a divergent is. This makes you curious and anxious for the next book to become. All in all, I would give Divergent a four and a half stars out of five.
Sorry, if I bored you with my book talk. But if you have never tried on books, then I insist you must try once. After all books have the power to change the mind. My friends do not read books so I had to tell you all. I want to know how others feel when they read the books. Do you feel the adrenaline like I do
